Life has a funny way of surprising us, doesn’t it? I never imagined that my path to becoming a hairstylist would twist and turn the way it did. As a young adult, I envisioned a completely different career, with my academic journey and professional life mapped out to the smallest detail. My original plan included earning my cosmetology license as a stepping stone while pursuing a college degree — never realizing that the “stepping stone” would become the very foundation of everything I love today.
From the moment I picked up those shears and began working with clients, I felt an undeniable connection. The artistry of hairstyling, the joy of transformation, and the genuine conversations shared in the salon chair — all of it resonated deeply within me.
As I immersed myself in the world of hair, I realized this was where I belonged. It wasn’t about following a plan I once mapped out — it was about listening to my heart and embracing where my true passion lay.
Over the years, I’ve dedicated myself to mastering my craft — seeking mentors, investing in advanced education, and refining my skills in color, extensions, and bridal styling. Each client has become more than a canvas; they’re part of a shared journey where creativity meets trust, and where I’m constantly learning and growing alongside them.
In 2025, that passion evolved into something even greater — the opportunity to create a space of my own. K & Co Beauty Lounge in Bowling Green, Ohio is the realization of a dream years in the making. It’s more than a salon; it’s a reflection of my heart and the belief that beauty and connection go hand in hand. At K & Co, my goal is simple: to make every guest feel seen, understood, and radiant — inside and out.
Looking back, I can’t help but marvel at how life’s detours have led me here. What began as a backup plan turned into my life’s purpose — doing what I love every day, empowering others to feel their best, and now leading a team and space where that same joy can ripple outward.
So, if you find yourself at a crossroads, remember this: sometimes the detour is the path you were meant to take all along. Embrace the journey, trust the timing, and you may discover that where you end up is exactly where you’re meant to be.
Beyond the salon, I find joy in adventurous vacations with loved ones, discovering new golf courses, and cherishing quiet moments with my husband. This year also brought my most meaningful new role yet — becoming a mom. Balancing motherhood and salon ownership has deepened my sense of purpose in ways I never imagined, reminding me daily of the beauty in growth, grace, and gratitude. Our home is joyfully ruled by two gentle giants — our Saint Bernards — who fill our lives with laughter, love, and endless fur.
